Fractal Program Sites

The FRACTINT Home Page
http://spanky.triumf.ca/www/fractint/fractint.html
"This Page is maintained by Noel Giffen at TRIUMF, Canada's National Meson Research Facility. There are versions of Fractint, perhaps the best fractal creation program, for DOS (v19.6), Windows and UNIX."
Fractal Orbits 32 is available at:
 ftp://ftp-hs.iuta.u-bordeaux.fr/fractorb/FO32201.ZIP
(version 2.01) is a new Fractal Generation program (available to download) by Phil Pickard. You can view some of his work at http://www.cnam.fr/fractals/pickard.html
Frody Gill's Quaternion Generator
 http://www.krs.hia.no/~fgill/fractal.html
can be used to generate "Julia-set Quaternions." from Norway

Fractal Agent (was ZPlot) by Terry W. Gintz
http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Lofts/5601/
first designed in 1989, with the idea of being "able to draw escape-type fractals using every conceivable complex math function." The fractal to the right is a Convergent Fractal that is called Taztec2.gif that was generated with Zplot, located in the ZPlot Gallery
Fractal eXtreme
 http://www.cygnus-software.com/
Software "for exploring the wonders of fractals" with point and click animated zooming. (not freeware)
The FracZoom Navigator Home Page
http://home4.inet.tele.dk/nur
With FracZoom you can zoom in on fractals in real time. "Navigate deep down to a magnification of 5 Million Billion right down into the deepness of Mandelbrot's 'The Lake'. " -- by Niels Ulrik Reinwald from Denmark
Flarium24 and Iterations
http://home1.gte.net/itriazon/
These two are 32-bit programs to generate fractals. Flaruim24 is a program for generating fractals in 24 bit color mode and "Iterations" is a program that generates fractal images which can be used in backgrounds and textures for other images, artwork or photos. The image to the right, "Sea Apple", was created using Flarium24.
A Fractal Experience
http://www.mnsinc.com/wgwright/fracexp
"A Fractal Experience is an instructional program designed to give students a basic understanding behind the amazing phenomenon of fractals." -- by David Wright from Hylton High School, Woodbridge VA
Redbeard's Life Raft with SetSurfer
http://www.flash.net/~redbeard/
This site contains Set Surfer which is a Windows 95 program that creates pictures of the Mandlebrot Set and Julia Sets. I created the image to the right with SetSurfer, by simply clicking on the Mandelbrot set a couple of times.
SBART Home Page
http://www.intlab.soka.ac.jp/~unemi/sbart/
"SBART developed by Tatsuo Unemi is a design support tool to create an interesting 2-D CG image based on artificial selection, which was originally proposed as Artificial Evolution by Mr. Karl Sims." from the Soka University, Japan
The Frang Page!
http://www.servtech.com/public/baldwin/frang/frang.html
"Frang is actually a REAL-TIME FRACTAL ZOOMER! ...most fractal programs draw pictures of parts of the same fractal like individual paintings, which is slow and can't give you a real sense of the fractal." The picture to the side was created with FRANG.
The FracPPC Home Page
http://users.aol.com/ddemars/fracppc.html
FracPPC is a freeware program that runs only on the Power Macintosh.-- by Dennis C. De Mars
Aros Fractals from Aros Magic
http://www.arosmagic.com/Fractals/
"With Aros Fractals you can explore some classical fractal images at extremely high resolutions."
Bill's IFS Fractal Screen Saver
http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Studios/1450/
This program "...produces graphic images that please my visual senses. The  Windows 3 screen saver that you can download  from this page is one fruit of this hobby 'labor.'"
Julia Saver from Temporary Sanity Designs
http://www.emi.net/~dmj/juliasaver/juliasaver.htm
"Julia Saver is screen saver which generates full-screen fractals whenever your computer is idle - and it generates them in real time, animating them in ways you've probably not seen before."
Seraline ScreenSavers
http://www.ozemail.com.au/~porum/
There are a variety of fractal generation screen savers available for downloading, Seraline ScreenSaver, Seractal, 3aline, Serandom and Adrift
from Sydney,Australia.
No-Boundary Mandelbrot Pictures
http://www.capcollege.bc.ca/~mfreeman/mand.html
Here is a collection of some images that were created using TRUMAND, a set of programs to create 24 bit .TGA images of almost unlimited resolution.
Mandelbrot Explorer
http://www.softlab.ntua.gr/mandel
This lets you zoom in on the Mandelbrot Set. You can also view images that were created by *you* at The Mandelbrot Explorer Gallery. Updated every week
at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece
Mandelbrot JAVA Page
 http://www.sunlabs.com/~shirriff/java/mandel.html
