Alten's African Safari
by Patrick Jackson July 28th to August 23rd, Mr. Alten, a
Biology teacher at Chaffey High School, went on a geology tour of South Africa.
He and fellow science teacher, Mr. Reeves, were eyewitnesses to several birds
they had never seen before: 143 species to be exact. Mr Alten also saw several
wildlife subjects including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and
rhinos. "It was a real weird place!" Alten exclaims. While on safari
he managed to find and bring back a wild cat skull, several insects, and an
antelope hide. He studied the geology of South Africa as well as its people and
culture. After dobserving over 100 different species of birds, finding skulls
and strange insects, it looks like this safari was a success! |
