Welcome
back Chaffey Tigers, and a special welcome home to all those new cubs on
campus, the class of 2003.Along with our new baby faces, Chaffey has also
gained a new face itself. Wouldn’t the class of ’99 like to be in our shoes,
meeting new students and attending a new-and-improved campus, with a new
electronic marquee—just one of Chaffey’s many renovations? Besides, this
campus is our second home, since we spend most our days here, and some
of us longer hours than others because of sports or other extra-curricular
activities.
Now
that Chaffey is making a change for the better, shouldn’t we try to make
an effort and follow its footsteps? If your parents got a makeover, you
wouldn’t put gum in their hair, tag on them, or throw trash at them now,
would you? That’s why it’s important that we take care of the nice, clean
environment we have been given to hang out in and not take it for granted.
We
hope this year is better than the last. Isn’t that the reason why time goes
by, to make things all better than before? Hopefully, if we had any
obstacles last year to overcome, we overcame them and learned from them,
because that’s another good thing about time; it gives us opportunities
to repair damages done in the past.
As
your school newspaper’s 99-00 Co-Editors, we want to strengthen the bond
between you, the reader, and news surrounding us—whether it be from our
campus, the local community, or even the nation. Ideally, this will allow
you to become more aware of the world in which we live.
If
at any time during the year you feel that there’s a story that should be
covered and shared with the rest of the student body, please feel free
to let us know. Send ideas and comments to SH 204, in care of Ms. Hamilton,
the advisor. Meanwhile, enjoy and be enlightened by this first issue of
the Tiger Rag’s New Millenium Volume.
