Carriann Love ran for Homecoming for good reasons.“I thought it would be an unforgettable experience to be more involved my last year at Chaffey.”

She is also in her second year of Advanced Drama.

“Only one female receives this honor each year,” Carriann realizes about the title of Homecoming Queen.

Although she says she is not in it to win, she believes there is no reason not to put a lot of effort into her campaign. “During campaigning as well as the first four weeks of school, I did not have one full night of sleep."

She believes in living life in the fast lane and is the kind of person who could persuade the Pope into going to a rave.

All of her endless dedi-cation and hard work and effort paid off, since CHS students voted Carri-ann as one of the five Prin-cesses who made it to Homecoming court.

But Carriann’s interest was in meeting everyone, not the crown.“I wanted to really get to know new people.”

Possessing self-motivation, Shantal Rodriguez decided to run for court because she thought it would be an experience to remember. She admits though that initially she was just doing it for fun, so she wouldn’t have had any hard feelings if she hadn’t been named one of the five princesses. “I was so happy just to know all my hard work paid off,” she says.

Shantal worked hard, and throughout the whole campaign week, she pulled all-nighters. She says she wanted to do something different and noticeable. As you can tell, her cute strawberries around campus worked. She had her friends help her as well as her family, who supported her throughout the entire campaign.

While participating in Pep Squad, Student Council, and Psychology, Shantal manages to do her favorite things: go out with her friends and boyfriend to the movies, beach, and her favorite restaurants.
After high school, she wants to attend a Cal State University and major in law and psychology. Her goal is to graduate from UCLA. She admits that she will miss Chaffey and all her friends, whom she’s met throughout the years. “I remember entering high school scared, but now I’m leaving very happy and proud,” she recalls.
