Seniors Triumphant in Class Float Competition
By Corinna Compian & Danielle Barrasa, Staff Writers
Cheering and shouting for their class was just part of the fun that students experienced
on October 15 during half time at the Chaffey vs. Ontario football game,
traditionally known as the Cat Bowl. Hundreds of students demonstrated
their class spirit by cheering for the float designed and decorated by
members of their own graduating class.

The crowd determines the winner simply by the amount of cheers each float receives.
It was a close competition between the seniors and juniors this year; each
received near-hysterical outbursts from the audience, but the seniors ultimately
drew more cheers. As tradition, the attractive freshman float inspired
a mix of boos and hardy cheers from the crowd. The sophomore float looked
good, but not quite good enough.
Even though Ontario won the football game, it didn’t really matter because
we have enough school spirit and pride to realize it’s just a game, and
there will be other teams to play against and defeat.
Congratulations to the seniors on a job well done. The other classes should look ahead
to the future and put up a valiant battle to beat the triumphant seniors.
