If for Only One Night
By Carriann Love, Staff Writer
Glittery gowns, curly locks, jittery dates, and clumsy dancers were all too common at this year's Homecoming Dance, the theme of which was "If for Only One Night."
The extravaganza was held at the Ontario Convention Center on Saturday, November 6. With tickets ranging from $28 to $35, depending on the number of ASB cards used to purchase them, it was a night to truly remember.

For the most part, the dance was wonderful. The only complaints were about the long lines for pictures. "We should have been able to take group pictures at the school so we could have more time to dance," expressed Michael Holguin (00). One group of students had to be taken out into the foyer because the photographers had very limited space set up in which to pose for pictures.

These two pals, Ofa Fakutamafi and Moe Vave,
paused the partying to pose for posterity.

The disc jockey did a fair job playing diverse music from reggae to the latest Spanish rock, but many complained that the rap music really didn't set the mood for a semi-formal occasion.
Many seniors made the sad realization that this would be their last Homecoming dance at Chaffey. "The friends, the memories, the
experience...I'm really going to miss it all," admits Marina Torres (00) with a sniffle.
When asked about their favorite aspect of the dance, many students agreed that they became more comfort-
able dancing in front of their peers toward the end of the dance.

Some guys at Homecoming were "too sexy" for just one date.

Overall, whether those who attended were a freshman or senior, Homecoming Dance '99 was truly an experience not to be missed. High school is the time of life to try new things and spend time with friends. Don't miss out on any available opportunity; they are just waiting for you to dive in.
