increase understanding, acceptance, school spirit, and pride. Our goal is
to broaden the views and awareness of our readers. Reporters assume the responsibility of reporting accurately,

Letter from the Editors
Is change good or bad? Or does it depend on the change itself, whether it be for the better or worse?
At the beginning of each year, we say that we will try to change for the better, but how many of us actually succeed? Well, we have! This "new and improved" edition of the school paper has done exactly that. It has gone from being photocopied onto plain white paper to newsprint that actually gets your fingertips smudged with ink-just like a real newspaper should! Say goodbye to all those painful paper cuts! Besides what's better? A little ink or a little long-lasting pain? |

|
In addition is the "slash" of color on the cover which clearly establishes the Tiger Rag as Chaffey's very own orange and black. We hope that you too consider these changes to be definite improvements, since our goal is to begin printing a full size newspaper in September with the start of the new school year, if provided sufficient financial support from
ASB.
On a more personal matter, one change that many of us should consider is to re-dedicate ourselves to our schoolwork, if at the present moment we lack motivation to bring up our grades, if needed. Although it might be too late to improve one's grades before this semester's finals, think it over before
2nd semester begins. Make the decision to get your act together, and keep the straight A's with which you will again begin the new semester. This improvement won't probably happen from one day to another, but every little detail in the process of improvement is critically valuable.
Don't give up after the first week of second semester; remember that good things are earned only with hard work. Don't just do it for your parents, do it for yourself; do it for your future. |
