Tiger Spotlights
Although he recently moved to California from Indiana, David
Masterson (03) has already become a recognizable figure on cam-pus. He played
the character Peter Van Daan
in the Fall play, The Diary of Anne Frank after completing a professional acting job. David traveled to Houston to film a national commercial for Chef Boyardee! In addition to his drama talents, he has played basketball and soccer. David is off to a great start and continues to work hard.

She's one of Chaffey's most outstanding and hardest working sophomores. She not only plays varsity soccer, track, and cross-country, she also plays the cello in Chaffey's Symphony Orchestra. She's
Alissa Chow.
Being involved in so many activities such as attending church, playing sports, snowboarding whenever possible, and hanging out with friends, |

|
| Alissa still manages to maintain a 4.5
G.P.A. Her advice is to "get involved with things that interest you. Work hard, manage your time, and do not procrastinate" if you want to be smart but still have a fun life.
The Tiger Rag would like to congratulate Alissa for winning 3rd place in the 10th-12th grade category Red Ribbon Week Essay Contest, and for making CIF for cross-country. Good luck. |

You have probably seen him performing with Chaffey's marching band, or in action with the water polo team. This spirit-ed student is our very own
Jon Hermison (01).
He doesn't only bring smiles to his friends, but to his teachers as well by maintaining a 3.7
G.P.A. When Jon's hectic schedule allows, between water polo and band practice, he enjoys spending time with his friends at the movies.
There is only one thing bothering Jon: why does James Bond get all the ladies? |

Melissa Ruiz (00) is not just another senior with a G.P.A. of 4.3. She also works a part-time
job and participates in various clubs and activities. Melissa currently serves as the Vice President of CSF (the
Calif-
ornia Scholarship Federation), and has been both the Secretary and the Vice President of
Kiwins. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Chaffey's 1999-2000 yearbook and recently joined the Academic Decathlon Team. She admits that participating and excelling in such an overwhelming number of activities "takes a little sleep and a lot of dedication." For Melissa, being a senior isn't about leaving your mark; it's about living your
life. |
