Allan G. Smith Educational Services Center Building History The Allan G. Smith Educational Services Center, formally the Junior College Building (Tower Hall). 

Chaffey Junior College of Agriculture was originally organized in 1919.  In its earliest days, the junior college had no physical identity.  Its students were scattered in the buildings erected for the high school, and instructors who gave part of their time to the high school curriculum taught its classes.  1930 Construction started about October 20.  1931 First unit completed in March, dedicated May 22.  1932 Second unit completed about February.  1960 Junior College moved to new campus in Alta Loma.  The high school took over the building for classrooms.  It became known as Tower Hall.  1976 Completed remodeling into district administration offices, and named the Allan G. Smith Educational Services Center.

Allan G. Smith Allan G. Smith was employed September 10, 1947 as a physical education teacher at Chaffey High School.  He was appointed to the position of Dean of Boys effective July 1, 1949.  He was on military leave effective September 6, 1950 and returned February 4, 1952.  He was then assigned to teach physical education.  Effective July 1, l952, he was selected to serve as the physical education department chair and athletic director.  He became the Director of Personnel for both the Chaffey District and Chaffey College July 1, l954 and was appointed as assistant superintendent/director of personnel effective July 1, l956.  

Mr. Smith was named associate superintendent/director of personnel for the 1957-1958 school year.  He was appointed Superintendent of the Chaffey high School District effective July 1, l958 and continued in that position until his death June 26, l976.  His retirement was scheduled for July 1, 1976.  Mr. Smith's post high school education was completed at Chaffey College, Pomona College and Claremont Graduate School.
