Anthony Berry was recognized as Chaffey’s outstanding ROP student. Anthony, who is in Manufacturing Technology where he is learning the latest techniques in machine-tool manufacturing, is planning to go on to college. Mr. Brown, Anthony’s instructor, stated that it’s a pleasure having this dedicated and hard-working student in his class. Scholarships here are a few scholarships that are available in the Career Center. * Inland Valley Humane Society: Two (2) $500 scholarships offered by IVHS to students interested in animal welfare, care, and human-animal bonds. Deadline is April 15th. * African-American Youth Scholarship Program: Sponsored by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. This scholarship of $1,000 will be given to 30 outstanding 12th grade students. Deadline is March 31st * Asian Pacific Youth Scholarship: Sponsored by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. This scholarship of $1,000 will be given to 30 outstanding students who are between the ages of 15 to 18 yrs old. In addition, the winner will be featured in a program to air on KSCI-TV. Deadline is April 10th. * TRENZA Scholarship 2000 for Chicana/Latinas: Trenza (A UC Berkeley organization) will award two $500 scholarships to Chicana/Latina high school seniors. The “Trenza Founding Mother Scholarship” is designed to award the student who has overcome a difficult challenge. The “VIVA La Mujer Scholarship” is designed to reward the student who has shown academic and community excellence. Deadline is March 25th. * Great Clips for Hair: For those students who wish to pursue a career as a professional stylist the Great Clips Inc. are offering four $250 scholarships. Deadline is April 30th * Teamsters Union local No. 166: If your parent is a member of this chapter you could be offered a $1,000 dollars scholarships. Total 2 scholarships are being offered and the students applying for this award should be planning on going to college or trade school. * COIN PROGRAM: This is a database that contains hundreds of scholarships that are available to qualified students.
