Dance Clubs
Are you one of those people who likes to dance? If you are, join the Technochtitlan Folklorico
club, which focuses on learning the steps to a variety of Spanish folk
dances. They are looking forward to performing two shows this year, in
addition to other activities. The club is open to all Chaffey students,
but more guys are especially needed. “Please join us and be enlightened
to the popular dances that are a great part of the Spanish culture,” invites
Mr. Montague, the clubs advisor. The club meets every Tuesday after
school in SH 100.
Do you want to learn how to dance Salsa or show off your technique? Then join the Salsa Club,
open to both girls and guys. You will learn the basics of Salsa, Merengue,
Cumbia, etc. If you are interested in becoming a member, look for the flyers
posted throughout school or the school’s bulletin. You don’t have to know
how to dance; you just have to want to learn.
Orchesis is a club for advanced dancers. Orchesis members practice every day after school
to perfect their routines. The members participate in competitions such
as rallies, assemblies, and Winter and Spring Flings. It participates in
fundraises to help lessen the cost of the expensive costumes required for
their performances. The club “is a family of hard working and talented
individuals,” comments Gina Southern (00), Secretary of Orchesis.
