Social Conditions
It is a great mistake for eastern people to think that this
western country, especially any part of California is the "jumping
off" place. That "wild and
wooly" life that you hear of in the east exists only in the minds of some
of the would be funny writers. Many are
surprised on arriving here to find that, from a social standpoint, Southern
California communities rank with those of the east of a like size. This is not at all surprising when we
consider that this section has been chiefly settled by people from all parts of
the country east of the mountains.

ONTARIO'S NEW AND MODERN HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING
(7.75"
X 3.75")
The school facilities are especially good. A new high school building just completed
has as its feeder five graded schools.
Most of the religious denominations are represented here, to be exact
nineteen different denominations hold regular services. Secret societies of every known kind are
represented. Our population is
cosmopolitan, every state in the union being represented. Newcomers are soon made to feel at home and
within a year regard themselves as old settlers.

(No subtitle printed, sign on building reads:
ONTARIO POWER CO
SAN ANTONIO WATER CO.
Note the snow on Cucamonga Peak and the foothills)
