About The Staff at Chaffey High School

There are 160 full-time
equivalent regular and special education teachers at Chaffey High School.
Of this staff 16 are emergency credential holders and 34 teach in an area
of expertise outside their subject area via board resolution. They are
supported by a principal, three assistant principals, seven counselors,
a librarian and 89 full or part-time classified staff. A nurse, psychologist
and a hearing/speech specialist are also available to Chaffey students.
In 1999-2000, one teacher
was selected to be a peer assistance teacher in recognition of outstanding
professionalism.
Teachers are regularly
evaluated by the principal or other administrator. Written evaluations
are preceded by at least one classroom observation and involve a conference
between the teacher and the administrator.
Chaffey teachers participate
in District programs for professional growth and fine-tuning of teaching
skills, motivational in service training in the spring and other curriculum-related
workshops throughout the year.
The Chaffey District maintains
a staff development program for all teachers which includes training in
teaching methodologies, learning research and technology. Each school develops
a program of staff training reflecting the needs of the individual school
community funded by SB 1882 monies.
