If you enjoy working with people and wish to grow with your profession, the Chaffey High School Hotel Management Academy could be the path for you. The openings of the Ontario Convention and Event Center, Ontario Mills Shopping and Entertainment Complex, the Ontario Raceway and the expansion of the Ontario International Airport have all added up to create a huge demand for qualified workers. In an effort to fill this need and to provide Chaffey students with increased career opportunities, the CHS Hotel Management Academy was developed.
 

  The Academy is designed to provide you with marketable skills to help you gain employment in the fastest growing industry in our area. Students who sign up for the Academy program, the second semester of their freshman year, will complete a three year program relevant to the hotel/resort industry and relating recreation occupations.  

 Upon graduation from high school, Academy members will have the choice of entry?level employment within the hospitality industry (promotion to mid?level positions requires work experience and on?the-job?training), or you may continue your education at Chaffey Community College in their degreed Hotel
 

 Management Program. You may also choose to continue your education at a state college or university, or select entry?level employment while taking college courses. Whatever your post graduate plans, you will graduate from high school with the possibility of a minimum of 12 college units from Chaffey Community College!
 

 Academy classes include Keyboarding, Computer Applications, Business Management, and Presentation Skills. Students will prepare resumes and practice for their job interview in Career Planning class and will also experience the "front desk" in a live office lab. Industry speakers, field trips and hotel tours will round out your Academy experience and will provide you with a first?hand look at the hotel, entertainment, and travel industries. Upon successful completion of the Academy program, you will take your Academy portfolio and Hotel Management Certificate with you to your Academy sponsored employment interview.
