 University of California (UC) Entrance Requirements (a-f)

 

SUBJECT REQUIREMENTS

 

  a. HISTORY (U.S. History, Am. Govt.) …. 1 YR

      WORLD HISTORY…………………….1 YR

 

b. ENGLISH (Must be "P" course). 4 YRS

 

c. MATH (Algebra 1, Geometry, and

     Advanced or Second‑year Algebra) …..   3 YRS

 

d. SCIENCE (Lab Science taken

     in grade 10,1 1, or 12) ...........................2 YRS

 

e. FOREIGN LANGUAGE

     (same language)…………………………     2 YRS

 

f. ELECTIVES………………………………. 2 YRS

     Two units (four semesters) in addition to those

     required in "a-e" above. Chosen from the

     following areas—Visual and Performing Arts,

     History, Social Science, English, Advanced

      Mathematics, Laboratory Science, and

         Language other than English (a third year in

     the language used for the "e" requirements or

     two years of another language)..... 15 UNITS

 

1 YR = 1 UNIT, 15 units required (7 in Junior and Senior years). "B" or better grades are very important for admission.
