Chaffey Against Substance Abuse Diversion Program (CASA)

Students from Chaffey High School who have been disciplined for tobacco related offenses (possession, inappropriate attire) as well as more serious drug offenses are referred to the CASA Diversion Program for five weeks.  As a condition of participation, a responsible adult must attend along with the student.  Students are not considered completers until all five sessions have been attended along with a parent/guardian.  Lessons are sequential, so once begun, it is important that students complete all five weeks consecutively.  Enrollments, completions and program evaluations are tracked by the classroom teacher and monitored by the Tobacco Competitive Grant Program Manager.  Progress is monitored by individual referring high schools as a condition for the student to avoid more serious disciplinary measures at the local high school.
